Modeling Airport Catchment Areas: Using Spatial Analysis Approach

نویسندگان

چکیده

Th e airport catchment area is the geographic from which an can reasonably expect to draw commercial air service passengers. purpose of this interdisciplinary research estimate areas using a spatial analysis method for informed management. In order ensure comprehensiveness and reliability research, we chose analyze five airports different sizes in locations United States. The Huff model, usually used marketing, economics, retail was adopted study. We applied model selected airports, with consideration ground transportation distance attractiveness. identified best factors parameters modeling purposes. results provided reliable information their areas. addition, provide good reference other studies about effectiveness prediction.

Catchment Area Analysis Using Bayesian Regression Modeling

A catchment area (CA) is the geographic area and population from which a cancer center draws patients. Defining a CA allows a cancer center to describe its primary patient population and assess how well it meets the needs of cancer patients within the CA. A CA definition is required for cancer centers applying for National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer center status. In this research...

Modeling of Airport Operations Using an Object-Oriented Approach

(ABSTRACT) This research develops an object-oriented approach to model airport ground network traffic operations. A generic modeling library is developed as a tool kit to model the basic traffic operations in the airfield using an object-oriented approach. The proposed generic modeling library for airfield operations is a collection of predefined abstract components implemented in the Java obje...

Multitemporal/multiband SAR classification of urban areas using spatial analysis: statistical versus neural kernel-based approach

In this paper, we derive two techniques for the classification of multifrequency/multitemporal polarimetric SAR images, based respectively on a statistical and on a neural approach. Both techniques are especially designed to exploit the spatial structure of the observed scene, thus allowing more stable classification results. Such techniques are useful when looking at mediumto large-scale featu...

Non-stationary Spatial Modeling Using Harmonic Analysis

Since in most applications of geostatistics only one realization of the random phenomenon can be observed, it is common standard to make the assumption of stationarity. Recently, motivated by applications in environmental and atmospheric monitoring, where the investigated phenomena act on a very large scale, new non-stationary covariance function models, estimation and prediction methods have b...

Using spatial analysis to identify areas vulnerable to infant mortality.

OBJECTIVE To analyze the spatial distribution of infant mortality and identify clusters with high risk of death in the first year of life. METHODS The Thiessen (Voronoi) polygon method was used to analyze spatial distribution of the infant mortality rate, calculated by municipality. The triennium 2006 - 2008 was used as a reference to estimate the average infant mortality rate, and the first ...
